The DRS 2006 Effect Bench Plugin
The DRS 2006 Effect Bench Plugin is an optional plugin for the DRS 2006 radio automation software Version 4 and higher. This plugin includes special sound effects like Reverb, Echo and Chorus and permits you to add several effects to your broadcasts.

A reverb effect simulates the component of sound that results from reflections from surrounding walls or objects. It is in effect a room simulator. The echo effect repeats the audio you have selected again and again, normally softer with each interation. The delay time between each repeat is fixed, with no pause in between each repeat. The chorus effect is a modulation effect used to create a richer, thicker sound and add subtle movement. The effect roughly simulates the slight variations in pitch and timing that occur when multiple performers sing or play the same part.

After activating this plugin you will have a new ribbon in your DRS 2006 software which looks like this:

This ribbon has 4 different sections (Load & Save, Reverb, Echo and Chorus)

Load & Save
In this section you can load and save your complete effect bench settings (Reverb, Echo and Chorus). To save your current settings you click on the floppy disk icon and insert your settings name. After this procedure your settings should be selectable in the drop down box. If you want to delete a setting, you simply click on the red cross and confirm that you want to delete.

General knob control
There are 3 ways how you can adjust the sound processor settings with the knobs.
First you use the mouse to click on one of the knobs and then you can:
1. Use the mouse wheel up and down
2. Use the arrow keys (left, right, up and down)
3. Click directly on the mark of the knob and move the virtual knob in a circular motion

Reverb
In the Reverb section you can adjust all settings for the Reverb To turn the Reverb on, you need to press the button above the drop down box next to "Active". As soon as the Reverb is active, the button will turn green. With the drop down button you can select different presets. The arrow button will hide and show the knobs of this section.

Reverb

The Reverb has 4 knobs you can use to adjust the settings
1. Mix (dB) - The reverb mix
2. Gain (dB) - The input gain of the signal
3. Time (ms) - The reverb time
4. Freq-Time Ratio - The high-frequency reverb time ratio

Echo
In the Echo section you can adjust all settings for the Echo. To turn the Echo on, you need to press the button above the drop down box next to "Active". As soon as the Echo is active, the button will turn green. With the drop down button you can select different presets. The arrow button will hide and show the knobs of this section.

Echo

The Echo has 4 knobs you can use to adjust the settings
1. Mix (%) - The ratio of wet signal to dry signal
2. Feedback (%) - The percentage of the output fed back into the input
3. Delay L (ms) - The delay for the left channel
4. Delay R (ms) - The delay for the right channel

Chorus
In the Chorus section you can adjust all settings for the Chorus. To turn the Chorus on, you need to press the button above the drop down box next to "Active". As soon as the Chorus is active, the button will turn green. With the drop down button you can select different presets. The arrow button will hide and show the knobs of this section.

Chorus

The Chorus has 5 knobs and 2 additional drop down boxes you can use to adjust the settings
1. Mix (%) - The ratio of wet signal to dry signal
2. Delay (ms) - The time the input is delayed before it is played back
3. Predelay (‰) - The percentage by which the delay time is modulated by the low-frequency oscillator
4. Ratio - The compression ratio
5. Release - The frequency of the LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator)

Drop Down boxes
1. The chorus type - Sine or Triangle
2. The phase - -180°, -90°, 0°, 90°, 180°
